Kobe University is one of the oldest national universities in Japan. Its history traces back to the establishment of Kobe Higher Commercial School in 1902.
Under the university's philosophy of "integrity, freedom, and cooperation", we aim at contributing to society by disseminating information gained through our education and research.
The university is made up of 11 faculties, 14 graduate schools, one research institute and many centers covering the four disciplines of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and bio-medical sciences.
Currently, there are 1,211 international students from 83 countries and regions studying at Kobe University.
